Whanganui Maori Regional Tourism Organisation (WMRTO) is a Charitable Trust formally setup in 2003 and a constitutionally mandated Iwi Organisation. The Iwi mandated groups and their representatives currently are :
- Ngati Rangi – Kemp Dryden
- Tamahaki – Robert (Boy) Cribb
- Hinengakau – Soraya Peke-Mason
- Tamaupoko – Daryn Te Uamairangi
- Tupoho – Sunny Teki
- Industry Representative – Dion Ngatai of Anndion Lodge

Our Purpose :
- Promotion of the Whanganui River and its authentic, cultural, and spiritual experience as a local, national and international tourist destination.
- To be a central communication hub for Maori Tourist Operators in the region and assist them to better coordinate their efforts and work with others in the industry.
